4 WAYS TO PREPARE YOUR GARDEN FOR SPRING!

The advent of Spring means warmer weather and getting back into the garden.  There are some important things you can do to prepare for your spring garden.  So read on!

1. CLEAN OUT PLANT BEDS

Take the time to look your garden over and clean up any plant beds that may be overgrown with weeds.  Remove all plant debris out of your plant beds and remember to add these to your compost heap.  Prune back any overgrown bushes and trim back as needed.

2. FEED YOUR SOIL

Soil can become depleted over time. As a result, you need to feed your soil regularly to keep your garden flourishing. It’s a great idea to start your own compost heap and use this to replenish your soil.

3. PLANT YOUR SPRING FLOWERS

Now is the time to plant your annuals.  Some lovely options for annuals are: sweet alyssum, lobelia and petunias.  They’ll add a splash of colour and beauty to your spring garden.  

4. HAVE YOUR IRRIGATION SYSTEM CHECKED 

Water is the lifeblood of your garden.  Be sure to have your irrigation system checked and maintained after winter.  So there you have it, some tips to help you prepare your garden for spring.
