HOW OFTEN SHOULD A LAWN BE WATERED?

Spring is here and we are once again enjoying days of warmer weather.  As a result, it’s time to turn our attention to our gardens and in particular our lawns.  The only way to keep our lawns lush and flourishing is through regular watering.  And this raises the question of how often should a lawn be watered.  Read on for more info.

Lawn experts recommend that you give your lawn 25mm of water per week.  A good tip to keep in mind is this:  You can test how hydrated your lawn is by how soft it feels under your feet.  If it’s hard and crunchy then it needs water and if it has enough water it will feel soft.

Watering your garden like this on a regular basis will keep your lawn flourishing.  However, it will also increase your monthly water bill.

There’s good news though! If you drill a borehole or wellpoint you can connect your irrigation system to it and water your garden as much as needed without a high water bill!

A borehole or wellpoint has so many benefits, but the top of that list must be the fact that you will save money on your water bill long term.  That’s a real bonus! Additionally, you can also use this water to fill your pool and even connect it to your house mains.  There are just so many great benefits!
